INVOLVEMENT WITH LIPOSOMA

Martino Ambrosini joined LIPOSOMA in 2019, keen to add his expertise to the group. At Liposoma he’s responsible for quality control, feasibility studies, development of new liposome formulations and stabilization methods.

ACADEMIA

• Master of Science in Chemistry (2004) at University of Ferrara in Italy, including an internship at GlaxoSmithKline pharmaceutical company.
• PhD (2009) in Chemical Sciences focusing on reactivity studies and full synthesis of organic compounds active on the central nervous system.

PROFESSIONAL CAREER

Between 2005 and 2009, he trained for two years in GlaxoSmithKline pharmaceutical company in the medicinal chemistry department. Together with an increased knowledge in organic synthesis and state-of-the-art instrumentation, he acquired a good overview of a big company’s objectives and regulations. He then moved in 2009 to the Netherlands to join DC4U, eager to expand his expertise in immunology and the related chemistry and biochemistry. Working in close collaboration with the Molecular Cell Biology and Immunology department at the Free University Medical Centre, he was involved in many projects aiming to vaccinate against cancer and autoimmune diseases. He was responsible for the design and synthesis of glycan-antigen conjugates, lead product optimization and quality control. He also developed receptor-targeting liposomal formulations in collaboration with the group of Gert Storm at UIPS in Utrecht.
