INVOLVEMENT WITH LIPOSOMA
Peter van Hoogevest is a pharmacist and biochemist with an impressive career in the pharmaceutical industry. After completing his pharmacy studies and obtaining a PhD in biochemistry at Utrecht University, he held various leadership positions at leading companies such as Ciba-Geigy (later Novartis), ADD Advanced Drug Delivery Technologies, Phares Drug Delivery AG, and Lipoid GmbH. Simultaneously he got the degree of PD (adjunct professor) at the University of Basel, Switzerland.
Since 2021, he has been the founder and CEO of Pharmanovation Consulting in Rheinfelden, Germany, where he applies his extensive knowledge in (phospho)lipid-based drug delivery technologies to consult companies in the development of innovative pharmaceuticals.
His scientific contributions include over 90 publications, including book chapters and conference posters, as well as 14 granted patents and 45 patent applications. Additionally, he has mentored 48 PhD students, demonstrating his commitment to knowledge transfer and academic development.
As a thought leader in pharmaceutical formulations, he has contributed to articles in reputed pharmaceutical journals reviewing topics like the use of natural and synthetic phospholipids in drug delivery systems.
